The Director of Community Relations is responsible for the resident census development for the skilled nursing communities in his/her assigned market territory. The Director actively develops relationships with qualified referral sources, obtains referrals for skilled nursing or rehab care and then follows those referrals through the underwriting process and transfer process until the prospective resident moves into the client community. The goal is to maximize the resident census in his/her targeted market community and in other communities in the client network.
This position reports to the RN Referral Hub Manager.
This is truly a sales position that is expected to increase qualified referrals, admissions and census in our client communities!
Develops, implements and monitors monthly progress of the Community's Census Team using the Census Growth Plan to:
Increase Qualified Referrals (QRs)
Increase the Conversion of QRs to Admissions
Monitors the weekly completion and review of the Weekly Census Scorecard Tracker .
Maintains daily, weekly and monthly metrics on census (sales calls, inquiries, admissions, discharges and referral sources) with comparisons to established business development goals. Consistently meets or exceeds census growth goals.
Works with the RN Referral Manager, Executive Director, Director of Nursing, Rehab Directors and Social Workers to ensure that there is clear communication among them and the referral source, the potential resident and the resident's family and/or caregiver.
Work with the Director of Business Development and the Client Community to create a Collateral Catalog (Brochures, Virtual Tours, Give-A-Ways, etc) and distributes accordingly.
Work with the Director of Business Development and the Client Community in the development and upkeep of the Client Community Website.
Conducts tours of the client community for referral source decision makers, prospective residents and their family members / caregivers as needed.
Represents the client community in the overall market territory to raise brand awareness of their client community.
Looks for ways to streamline the referral and admission process.
Other duties as required.
Education/Training: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or in a healthcare discipline. Previous experience in a LTC business office or as an Executive Director is preferred. Licensed and insured to drive their own personal vehicle on area business development calls.
A.D.A ((Americans with Disabilities Act) (as amended)) REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, walk as well as sit for most of the working day. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computer, fax, telephone, copier, etc. Requires normal range of hearing and vision. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, and be able to carry and transport supplies. Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation(s).
Skill(s): Must possess proficient reading, writing, grammar, and must have strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. Articulate, well-spoken professional with gracious social skills. Comfortable speaking to groups of varying sizes. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with people with varying communication styles to build trust and rapport. High personal energy level and excellent time management skills. No ego.

Experience: At least three or more years of sales experience in long-term care, hospital, home health, pharmaceutical or durable medical equipment sales. Three or more years of demonstrated outside sales experience exceeding sales measurable sales goals.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
