Infection Prevention Nurse (RN) Responsibilities
The Infection Prevention Nurse is responsible for conducting rounds, discussing and monitoring infection prevention practices with staff members, collecting infection data from departments, maintaining records for each case of healthcare- associated infection, conducting outbreak investigation, training staff members on implementation of infection prevention practices, investigating incidents of infections and reporting such incidents to the appropriate person/department, and ensuring availability of supplies required for infection prevention activities.
Infection Prevention Nurse (RN) Requirements
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nurse (RN) program and licensed in the state of practice, required.
- One year of experience providing specialized treatments in a long-term care setting.
- Prior Infection Control experience.
- Infection Control certification preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of federal and state survey processes.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN, experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.
- Current BLS/CPR certification (All SNFs; ALFs as required by state)
