Title: Paint Prep Technician Location: KS-Wichita
PDS is seeking a Paint Prep Tech for an open position in Wichita, KS.
In your role you will:
Participate in all phases of aircraft stripping and repainting including, but not restricted to preparation of the aircraft for primer, primer application and final detail.
Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting, including sanding, taping, etc.
Apply and removes stripper.
Apply striping and decals.
Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.
Remove paint from aircraft surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives and solvents as directed by paint lead.
Pour paint into spray guns, and adjust nozzles and paint mixes in order to get the proper paint flow and coating thickness.
Sand aircraft surfaces between coats of paint and/or primer in order to remove flaws and enhance adhesion for subsequent coats.
Mask other surfaces with tape or paper in order to protect them from paint.
As our ideal candidate, you will meet the following requirements:
High School Graduate or GED.
2 years of experience.
Safety requirements of the chemicals used in aircraft refinishing.
Usage of Material Safety Data Sheets.
Basic knowledge of aircraft composition.
Meeting production schedules.
