Substation Apparatus Engineer


Responsible for the design of substation apparatus for generation, transmission, and distribution substations from low voltage to EHV systems with emphasis on quality and project costs following client's requirements and internal company's quality control and quality assurance practices.
Responsibilities:
oDesign substations utilizing applicable codes and client standards (if available). Typical design to include general arrangement, equipment and electrical layout, elevation views, cable trench, grounding, conduit drawings, details, bills of material, and AC and DC power systems.
oDesign ground grids based on applicable codes utilizing industry available software.
oComplete calculations such as AC and DC load, bus spans, and ampacity.
oCreate equipment and material specifications for procurement of engineered equipment as well as development of design scope and cost estimates.
oComplete conceptual designs and layouts for facility planning studies.
oProvide technical direction and on-the-job training to drafters, engineering technicians, and less experienced engineers.
oDevelop, nurture, and maintain trusted relationships with senior level engineers, managers, and executives with current or prospective clients.
oConfidently and comfortably present technical solutions to key customers. Respond in real time to technical concerns and answer questions in a knowledgeable articulate manner.
oDirect and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
oPerform/Ensure company's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes are being followed on all design packages.
oDelegate, plan, prioritize, and review the work of other engineers.
oProvide Project Management functions for projects.
oSome AutoCAD drafting.
oSome marketing responsibilities and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
oB.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
oExperience in transmission, distribution, and/or generating stations is preferred.
oFE/EIT registration or the ability to obtain within twelve months is required.
oValid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.

oExcellent document management and organizational skillsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
