Summary:
Plans, organizes, and facilitates the strategic acquisition of materials and services of technical and/or contractual complexity.
A member of a cross-functional commodity team, using analytically formulated, and comprehensive supply management strategies.

Responsibilities:
Works in a self-directed environment within a commodity team to develop and apply a strategic commodity plan, which involves analytically and strategically defining a preferred supplier base for highly technical and/or contractually complex commodities.
Assigned to a strategic commodity team comprised of representatives from Purchasing and works closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Finance, Product Engineering, Product Support, etc.
The team works to solve strategic supply problems, gain cross-functional involvement, buy-in of solutions, and satisfy needs of internal customers.
Leads most supplier Long Term Agreement and Pricing Agreement negotiations, re-negotiations, and contract amendments and addendums in support of Cessna's strategic direction.
Identifies baseline supplier performance against assigned metrics and drives continuous supplier improvement to achieve desired performance level.
Encourages and coordinates early supplier involvement in highly technical and/or contractually complex new products and parts design using the supplier's expertise to optimize quality and produce-ability.
Manages continuous supplier improvement, regularly re-evaluating quality and performance benchmarks, and addressing the risks associated with the preferred supply base selection.
Utilizes appropriate tools as required.
Leads purchasing personnel to assist in the research, development, and implementation of solutions to supply issues.
Supports annual standard cost setting process, Bill of Material/Cost of Goods Sold analysis, and development of the commodity annual operating plan.
Coordinates and prepares Senior Leadership Team meetings with key suppliers.
Maintains current knowledge on any trends by personal contacts, industry reports, trade journals, magazines, participation in professional organizations, etc.

EDUCATION/
Experience:
oBachelor's degree required, or in lieu of degree, minimum 2 years' experience in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or other related field.
oMinimum of 5 years required experience in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or other related field, preferably in the aviation industry.

oStrong written and verbal communicationoStrong computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office SuiteoMust possess strong negotiation, analytical, program management, and interpersonal skillsoAbility to work in a team environment and collaborate to achieve desired goals and resultsoSAP proficiency preferredoExcellent and personable verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
