Summary:
To rework, rebuild and repair metal bond parts.
Job
Responsibilities:
Works from blueprints, rejections, shop routers, oral and written instructions to rework, rebuild and repair production aircraft parts where corrective action is necessary.
Assists in determining the best method of accomplishing repairs prescribed by inspection and engineering.
Obtains tools, fixtures and parts required to complete work.
Uses a variety of hand and power tools such as pliers, knives, files, saws, rivet guns, drills and scrapers.
Mixes and applies various adhesives and compounds.
Occasionally improvises holding devices or shop aids to assist with rebuilding and repair.
Measures and lays out work according to relationship of parts.
Responsible for final sellout of parts to inspection.
Shoot fasteners on single bond line elements that will be reattached using fasteners.
Responsible for the quality of own work.
May be required to work under the guidance of higher graded operators.
Performs other related duties as required.

Education:
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification.
Requires the use of blueprints, some measuring instruments, addition, and subtraction.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of three months metal bonding fabrication experience.
