Summary:
To functional test a variety of aircraft avionics and electrical systems and restore malfunctioning system toproper operation in compliance with engineering and flight test requirements.
Job
Responsibilities:
oPlans and performs a wide variety of functional testing and troubleshooting operations todetermine cause of malfunctioning electrical and electronic systems used in productionmultiengine aircraft.
Complex systems may develop unusual malfunctions which are correctedaccording to accepted methods and engineering requirements.
o Works from aircraft orders, inspection records, schematic drawings, engineeringspecifications, oral and written instructions to assure that aircraft meets requirements forproper flight operation of systems such as auto pilots, flight directors, automatic directionfinders, high frequency transmitters, radios, heating systems, weather radar, DME,transponders, EFIS systems and windshear.
oObserves operation of electrical and electronic systems while aircraft is in flight or being tested onflight ramp.
Adjusts GCUS and parallel generator voltages, compass directions, auto pilotheadings and make other adjustments as required.
oUses aircraft orders and inspection records to determine systems requirements.
Plansinstallation, functional testing and repair sequences for standard and optional equipment tocomplete work according to schedules.
May contact plant supervision, engineering and avionicsdepartments to arrange for delivery of shortage items and to obtain specifications for optionalequipment.
Works with vendor representative and/or engineering.
oTakes corrective action to repair malfunctioning systems using a variety of test equipment andhand tools.
Maintains clean working area.
oGuides and instructs one to two lower grade employees engaged in flight line electrical andelectronics work.
oPerforms other related duties as required such as field or ramp taxi of aircraftJob

Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification, andknowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
Ability to interpret schematic drawings, assemblyblueprints and specifications is required.
Experience:
Over three years up to five years diversified aircraft electrical and electronic installation and functionaltesting experience required to have working knowledge of a wide variety of electrical and electronicsystems.
Recommended Skills Blueprinting Corrective And Preventive Action (Capa) Electrical Installation Work Electronics Problem Solving Test Equipment Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
