Job Description
As a Recovery Home Program Monitor, your kindness, patience, and unwavering support will create a foundation of comfort and hope for those battling addiction.
Job Objective: The Resident Monitor provides basic care and supervision to the clients in the Recovery Home and assures that they have the supplies they need. This position lives on site and is on call for emergencies from 11PM to 8AM to assure safety and well-being.

Essential Functions:

  • Resides full time at The Salvation Army Recovery Home, Wichita, KS
  • Assures the Recovery Home policies and procedures are followed
  • Cleans and makes ready empty rooms for new clients as rooms open
  • Distributes supplies to each client as needed
  • Runs monthly fire drills and enforces the safety plan ass needed (tornado, power outage, etc.)
  • Sets the chore detail list each day
  • Assists with meal preparation and service as necessary: teaches clients how to pack lunches, clean up after meals, food storage, and sets out breakfast
  • Provides Breathalyzer and Urinalysis testing as necessary
  • Completes all required documentation in client files, HMIS, Logbooks, and agency forms.
  • Attends staff meetings and training as requested
  • Assists in maintaining overall appearance and cleanliness and safe conditions in the Recovery home. Reports all Maintenance and property concerns to management

Minimum
Qualifications:

Education:High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience:Twoyears' experienceprovidingsupportive service to similar populationpreferred
Certifications/Licenses:None
Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to perform job dutieswith minimal supervision and work effectively as a part of the Housing Services team

  • Audio and visual acuity needed for the supervision of clients and security system

Physical Requirements: Employee must have the ability to sustain physical activity both inside and outside for extended periods of time. Work requires ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.
Travel: Local travel may occur daily
Driving: Employee must possess a valid driver's license from the state of residence; must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive a Salvation Army on Salvation Army business.
Working Conditions: The work environment for this position includes an office environment with a medium to high noise level. Must be able to work with clients that have poor social skills, suffer from mental illness, and have substance use and mental health issues.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
