The Primary function of this position is to deliver high quality service to our lending base; direct and indirect.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned as such.
Verify all documents included and needed in the loan packet, as received from the direct/indirect channels. Assemble the packet into a complete loan file. Time date stamping all loan packets as they come in.
Process home equity applications, disbursing documents, performing all related closing functions, including but not limited to preparing closing documents, cutting checks, disbursing funds, etc.
Process all direct/indirect loan packets in the order they arrive. All direct loan packets must be funded immediately upon arrival. All indirect loan packets must be funded within 48 hours of arrival, maximum.
Process and disburse proceeds through

Corporate, internal transfer and/or checks as necessary. Order a coupon book, process internal transfers, or ACH transactions as necessary.
Prepare a completed loan file ready for consumer loan audit.
Communicate with the direct/indirect personnel regarding loan funding, problems, incentives, etc.
Communicate with members regarding their loan setup and terms. Help determine, meet, and solve members' needs and problems.
Adhere to all lending compliance guidelines.
Cross sell all applicable Meritrust
services
to new members, where possible.
Verify indirect payments and incentives, as necessary.
Be able to efficiently research, correct, and perform all necessary monetary transactions on member and dealer accounts.
Maintain communication with indirect dealers in order to provide necessary documents and assist them with point of sale purchase loans, among other items.
Present a positive, successful image of the credit union through a professional appearance and courteous attitude.
Maintain a record of loans disbursed. Adhere to all lending compliance guidelines.
Maintain confidentiality in all credit union and indirect/branch matters.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications and Education:
Strong oral/written communication skills.
Strong problem solving skills.
Ability to operate an adding machine,
computer
, and perform minor math calculations.
Fundamental knowledge of lending
practices
.
Fundamental knowledge of account-opening procedures.
Experience levels desired should include Teller I & II in addition to Member Service Associate I & II.
Completion of high school, with diploma.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
