Job
Summary:
To construct wooden, plaster and plastic patterns for experimental projects.
Job Duties:
Constructs wooden, plaster and plastic patterns for master patterns, form blocks, check jigs, mock-ups, templates and models on experimental projects according to standard shop practices.
Develops and lays out work, prepares plaster, takes splashes, establishes contour and various reference lines and fabricates templates, frames, and bases.
Fabricates acrylic, fiberglass and other plastic parts where standard methods are available.
Assists in more complicated pattern making operations.
Works in accordance with safety rules and general safety practices.
Uses hand and power tools, plus precision measuring instruments such as micrometer, height gauge, optical levels, and transits.
Responsible only for own work.
Performs other related duties as required.
## Qualifications
Education:
High school education or equivalent. Interprets blueprints and drawings, applies shop math and uses precision measuring instruments.
Experience:
1 - 3 years pattern making experience.
