Master Data/Transportation Specialist

Specific Requirements
The Master Data Specialist position will have an active role in master data management and governance. This involves the definition and execution of processes and rules for master data creation/maintenance and the monitoring of data governance policies and procedures.
This position will also be responsible for executing the master data creation and updates in both SAP and TCTP.
Must have previous experience in a role as SAP Master Data Analyst or demonstrate this skill in prior work history.
Multi-modal transportation experience including vessel, rail, air and truck desired.
Strong computer skills, especially Excel
Detail Oriented
Strong financial computation skills
Knowledge of Export Control and Customs used to create and manage the import and export paperwork required for international shipments.
Utilize Engineering drawing and Bill of Material experience to create detailed shipping lists
Knowledge of logistics, warehouse consolidation, packaging and freight forwarders and transporters used to manage domestic and international shipments
Proficient in US Customs regulations, NAFTA, Import/Export Classifications, HTSUS and country specific regulation determination
Proficient in processes related to temporary imports for repair/replace equipment
Familiar with the Carnet process, ITAR regulations, international hand-carry process, hazardous material transportation and storage
Ability to coordinate claims and provide documentation necessary for processing
Strong project experience to , track and follow-up to the line item level
Expertise in ocean freight operations and previous booking experience
Experience in complex industrial operations and related transportation requirements
Extensive general knowledge of the transportation/logistics field
Project logistics experience preferred
Responsibilities:
Acts as primary contact for projects or change request(s) involving master data.
Actively participate in the definition and implementation of the business master data governance and management processes, including approval and security policies.
Define, develop and implement business rules based on business and SAP requirements and ensure compliance with those rules is enforced.
Oversee data elements to prevent conflicts, i.e., HTS, cost center, material description.
Ensure data quality and data definition standards are developed and implemented.
Analyze and improve data quality, which include running regular schedule data audit reports any special audit reports as define by business unit.
Provide feedback on data accuracy thru developed KPIs.
Develop data validation techniques to ensure that data integrity and quality is of the highest degree based on risk and criticality.
Conduct root cause analysis to prevent future data quality issues and implement new standards or process to prevent future data quality issues.
Ensure synchronization with other database(s), and interface(s) as required.
Complete ad hoc projects and analysis relating to group responsibilities.
Create and maintain material masters, equipment records and functional locations.
Experience/Skills:
2 - 5 years hands-on experience with master data governance, maintenance and associated processes.
Proficient knowledge of SAP
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Access
Knowledge of database concepts
Knowledge of global & regional business rules governing data objects (e.g.PMD)
Effectively convey the business rules and definitions and promote them within the business areas
Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences
Strong written, technical documentation and oral communication skills
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
Previous experience working in the management of multi-modal transportation.
Experience with writing SQL and Macros
