Interior Design Consultant Salary plus commission

We are looking for a design savvy, self-motivated entrepreneur who has a creative eye for color and design in home furnishings and who has the talent and skills to work in partnership with our sales professionals to build relationships with clients and help clients design comfortable spaces. Additionally, the person in this position will use their artistic talent to create and maintain the visual integrity of the sales floor using corporate directed marriages and floor plans. Pay Details:
This position is Salary based plus 1% Commission on invoices that originate from Client Appointments. These appointments may be In-Store and or In-Home. Although helping salespeople in the store with their customers is part of the job description these sales will not count towards the 1% commissioned sales. The main focus of this position is to get the word out about the FREE Design Consultation Services that we provide as a company to generate NEW customers/Business that was not already coming to our stores. When helping with a Salesperson's customer it's recommend that you explain the services you offer, ask them about any other home projects they may have in the future that you could schedule an appointment to discuss in greater detail to assist them with and also ask them to refer you anyone they may know in need of a consultation. These would fall under the 1% commission structure.

Responsibilities:
Design, create and sell functional and creative spaces that fulfill the client's needs, taste, and budget.
Work in tandem with current store sales professionals to assist in building sales tickets and satisfying client design needs.
Meet established sales goals set forth by management.
Educate clients about complimentary design services offering as little or as much creative design service as the customer desires.
Create, maintain, and teach corporate merchandising standards on sales floor and to current staff.
Implement corporate directives for show floor presentation of product and create merchandising opportunities unique to individual floor plans.
Coordinate with sales team to provide outstanding design service to customers both before and after the sale.
Create and maintain a store design portfolio that is up to date including before and after images.
Job Requirements:
Ability to work independently with little supervision. Self motivated.
Demonstrate ability to practice residential interior design including creating projects using technical, artistic and creative skills in color and space planning.
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design is strongly preferred or 2 to 3 years experience in a comparable home furnishings role.
Entrepreneurial attitude and approach in demonstrating strong design and furniture sales experience, customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
Intermediate computer literacy.
Ability to move and reposition heavy furniture.
Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record and provide own transportation to and from customer's homes.
Ability to work flexible hours as clients' needs require or business dictates.
